Couples – Mel & Cam

I had been looking forward to doing this shoot for awhile (as we had planned to do it what felt like years ago), but bad weather and illness had postponed it for a time..  or so I thought. We ended up agreeing to the time and location a day or so before.

As I had been out of practise for a bit, it took a bit of warming up to get back into the groove of things – which inevitably means climbing a good tree and living to tell the story. Mel and Cam were incredibly patient with my tomfoolery and were great in trying anything that was suggested. I really enjoy it when couples contribute and are involved in the process as it helps me try to create and capture something that best represents who they are and their relationship.

When I looked back at the photos at the end of the day, I had so many images of just laughter and fun from the couple and I remember that I had a goofy grin on my face during those moments too. I think that feeling of innocence and being a kid again is something that can be easily lost as we become adults, but seeing that in two people so openly and easily was a rewarding experience.

Oh and having balloons definitely helps.. 🙂
