Chapel Farm Wedding – Laura + Alex

Way back in early 2015 I met with Laura and Alex for coffee to talk about photographing their Chapel Farm wedding. Knowing full well that the wedding wasn’t going to be till more than a year away it’s always rather startling when before you know it, that date is suddenly upon you…

At the start of the day, the weather was looking gloomy with patches of sun, but as we got closer the ceremony the sun basically blasted through the clouds for the rest of the day and topped it off with a pretty neat sunset. It’s been really amazing to see some wedding customs and traditions from other countries, this time around it was namely the German wedding custom of cutting a log with a humungous saw which traditionally represents the first obstacle that the newlyweds must overcome in their marriage.

Every time I look at these photos I can always hear in my head the outpouring of emotions in the day followed by the laughter that filled the night (namely from a surprise video with family and friends offering advice and words of wisdom). As always, all I can say is that I’m grateful to be invited to share in and document moments I never dreamt of seeing.
